Clinical Trials Recruitment
"The staff of the Clinical Trials Centre were friendly and confident and I knew I was getting the best possible care," Mr Maurie Richards, Clinical Trials participant.
Volunteering for a research trial
Clinical trials require the participation of volunteers. Without volunteers the advancement of new medications, diagnostics and surgical techniques could be further away.
Benefits to volunteering include:
- Comprehensive medical care free of charge
- Access to new and emerging treatments that may increase your quality of life
- Potential to help others with similar conditions in the future
- More active role in treatment
Your health, safety and privacy are of the utmost importance to us. The risks and benefits associated with joining a clinical trial will be explained before joining so that you can make an informed choice.
There are no costs associated with involvement in a trial. All treatment and tests are free. Volunteers are reimbursed for travel and parking expenses incurred as a result of participating.
There are two kinds of volunteers we look for:
- Healthy participants
- Participants who have been diagnosed with a disease for which a new treatment is being developed
