About the Clinical Trials Centre
Officially opened by Premier Peter Beattie in March 2007, The Wesley Research Institute’s new Clinical Trials Centre provides the resources to facilitate the development and evaluation of new medical treatments, and the development of innovative new clinical treatments and procedures.
The Centre also has the important function of enabling clinicians to stay at the forefront of the awareness of emerging drugs and medical treatments, and current clinical practices.
The Wesley Research Institute has been conducting clinical trials since 1998. The Queensland Government , through the Smart State Research Facilities Fund, recognised the Institute’s expertise in this area in 2004 by contributing $800,000 towards the construction of the Institute’s new, dedicated Clinical Trials Centre.
The Wesley Research Institute's Clinical Trials Centre is currently conducting trials in all therapeutic areas. All clinical trials conducted at The Wesley Research Institute are scientifically, ethically and legally valid to ensure the highest standard of outcomes and benefits to the community.
